DHEA

I have been doing some research on helping Ovarian Reserve. One thing that I did find was a supplement over the counter called DHEA. Most of the websites say positive things about it...but was curious if anyone has every used it and had success with it.?

Once I become a little more in control...I will write a longer blog about my negative Beta.

  1. Honey I'm so sorry about the negative. I know it crushed you, and I wish things would have been different. I am thinking of you.

PS: I haven't heard anything about dhea, so I can't be any help there, I'm sorry. I will keep my eyes open though. I'm proud of you for researching this though.

  2. So sorry! (coming from L&F--I share your first name--hope I can share my luck--my 1st cycle sucked, but 2nd one was a charm)

  3. I'm here from LFCA and scanning quickly while I take a short break from my work, so please forgive me if I'm repeating stuff you already know or that's not relevant.

For many years I've been on a high FSH message board whose posters may have good information on DHEA. Particularly its companion over-40 board includes some DHEA users. You can find the main board here (and the link to the 40+ board is on the right-hand side of that page) -- http://www.network54.com/Forum/209394/ .

    Good luck to you.

  4. The story on DHEA is it seems to help some people and not others. The stats are not convincing. However, I'm sure it helped me on our last IVF cycle conceive my son, Junior. I took it for 3 months before and during the cycle, and had a great response, better embryos than the previous cycle etc., and for the first time after 5 cycles and 1 frozen cycle, I both conceived and carried to term (had another pregnancy after 3 fresh and 1 frozen cycle but that was a spontaneous one). I was 41 at the time.

I took 75mg of the activated stuff.

Good luck. I would give it a go, advice from my doc was it was unlikely to do any harm.
