Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday...O MY~

Friday - I had already had my annual Pelvic and Pap Smear scheduled two months ago. It was expired and I went ahead and made it not knowing that I would be become pregnant. So, Friday morning, I had my annual stuff done. Thought he might do a quick sonogram but he didnt. Scheduled one for Sept. 1st.

Friday night - Inserted my progesterone supplement and there it was...bright red blood. This could not be happening. I immediately called my friend who is an OBGYN Nurse in Labor and Delivery. She lives down the street and came over. I also called my next door neighbor, "Big Sister" Michelle, who also works as a nurse. After my OBGYN friend examined my blood (Yes, we are that close! lol)...she was convinced that the Pelvic and Pap caused the bleeding. So, did the on call doctor. Fall asleep crying and hoping that I would not become pregnant and have a miscarriage the whole time my husband is in China.

Saturday morning - Woke up to lots of cramping and more blood. Decided to go to the ER. Had a neighbor watch Conner. A friend met me there. Saw the baby for the first time. Heart rate was perfect....122bpm. Cervix was closed. BETA was 55,000+. Of course, the stupid doctor that looked younger than me didnt know if it was caused from the Pap/Pelvic or if I was going to miscarry. But since everything looked good with my numbers and the baby... it was probably from the Pap/Pelvic.

Saturday afternoon- bleeding had stopped.

Saturday night - Pick husband up from the airport and just cry in his arms for about an hour when we get home.

Sunday - Threw up pretty much all day long.

Monday - Threw up all day. Called doctors office to ask for some meds for sickness. When the doctors office called back..they said..."We forgot to tell you on Friday that sometimes a Pap and Pelvic can cause bleeding for 24 to 72 hours after it has been done. Especially on early pregnant women. Did you have any?"

Due Date: April 14, 2011. 7 weeks pregnant.

  2. I'm calling it now ... baby will be born on your birthday! It will be an April Fool's baby - I mean, how could it not be a total prank with all that you have been through. It's a sign ... this kid is gonna have a heck of a personality!

Sorry for all the drama but so happy everything is working out. It's gonna be a long 30 or so more weeks ... I'll be saying lots of prayers for you! Love ya ;)

  3. OMG!!! That is too much! So glad that it ended on a VERY happy note. Now, I know that the throwing up is not fun at all, but I bet you don't really mind.:) Thank you for the updates. Sorry that you had to worry so much this weekend. Glad hubby is home and I hope it was a good cry that made you feel much better.

    Take care! Much Love!!

  4. I'm over from LFCA to tell you that the same thing happened to me, about six or seven weeks into my pregnancy with son #2. I never saw any blood during my first pregnancy, so I was absolutely freaked out and convinced I was about to have a miscarriage when I saw that bloody toilet paper.

However, I didn't see any more blood after that day, and all I could ever figure out is that it must have been from the Pap the previous day. I could have kicked myself, too, because my Ob/Gyn said the Pap was optional, but I told her to go ahead and do it. It really sounds as if that's what happened to you, too, but I'm sorry you had all the worry.

  5. here from LFCA -- 11 weeks pregnant and i keep having bleeding, apparently from my cervices (i have two), not the ute. cervices get a LOT more blood in pregnancy and they are more fragile, so it's not surprising that the pap made you bleed. as far as i can tell from my (obsessive) reading, this doesn't have anything to do with miscarriage. take it easy.

  6. When my wife got her pap smear/pelvic done at 10 weeks, she began bleeding in the doctor's office...like, blood was literally running down her legs. We freaked the fuck out. The next day it was spotting and then stopped. The baby, now 16 months, was fine. Holy hell though, it's scary.

  7. Lfca. Didn't have a pap, but towards the end would have bleeding with all my internal checks for dilation. Have also had bleeding from pap when not pg. Sucks that they made you worry :(.

  8. Here from LFCA and I had very similar bleeding after my P&P at 11 weeks pregnant with my now 2 year old son. THey really should have told you as my OB told me it is completely normal and that most women DO spot.

  9. You and I have the same due date and the same random bleeding this weekend.

This is my second pregnancy, and my first ended in miscarriage, so I immediately assumed I was having another. Imagine my surprise when a sono showed baby okay.

Blood is always scary, would have been nice if they'd given you the heads up. Best of luck, I'll be pulling for you.
